Animal Emergency & Treatment Center (AETC) is the only independently owned, 24-hour, small-animal veterinary emergency and specialty care center in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs.

We are open round the clock, 365 days a year to heal pets, to help owners and support referring veterinarians. AETC is more than an overnight emergency center; we are a full-service specialty referral, critical care and emergency hospital. Doctors and nurses are always on hand and have extensive experience in advanced care, emergency medicine and trauma.

We are a unique, single practice made up of a team of dedicated veterinary professionals that work together – each bringing a special component to pet care. Our highly skilled veterinarians and staff support and respect each others’ contribution to the healing of companion pets and the welfare of their owners, and we are in full partnership with referring veterinarians.

Our dedicated specialists are board certified in Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Critical Care, the highest levels of accreditation in our profession. Our team of highly experienced emergency doctors are the backbone of our collaborative care model. Our certified veterinary technicians (nurses) are experienced and passionate about caring for pets. AETC’s management team fosters strong values, mentors our staff and continually seeks new ways to improve our clinical care.

The latest and best medical technology and diagnostic options, including Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Digital Radiography and a comprehensive diagnostic laboratory, creates an atmosphere where referring veterinarians and clients feel confident in the quality of care and treatment we give. Our innovative blood donor program is the only one of its kind in the Chicagoland area.
