CVT and/or Veterinary Nurse for the ER

 

Responsibilities:

Promote company vision, mission statement and purpose.  Plays a positive and active role in fostering team relationships, leads by example and communicates effectively.  Must be flexible, cooperative, dependable, responsible, and have good time-management skills.  This position requires you to be self motivated and be able to differentiate between major and minor issues as they relate to clients and patients.  Candidate must be flexible to work overnights, weekends and holidays. 

Experience is preferred.  Certification is desired but not required. 

Key Functions:

  • triage incoming patients
  • manage clients and patients
  • execute treatment plans
  • assist DVM in assessment, diagnostics and treatment of patients
  • provide nursing care
  • obtain and process lab-work
  • use digital x-ray equipment
  • assist DVM with ultrasound procedures
  • monitor anesthesia and assist DVM in surgery

Qualifications:

  • work well under pressure and during high levels of stress
  • excellent communication skills
  • multitasker
  • strong computer skills
  • exhibit compassion
  • advanced phlebotomy and catheter placement
  • flexible work hours
  • works well individually and in a team setting
  • ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
  • out-going personality
